For beauty and wellness businesses, a website should immediately create a sense of trust and professionalism.
For the Eudora Microblading website design project, the goal was to create a custom website that better reflected the professionalism of the business while making it easier for clients and students to navigate the site, access information and book appointments or sign up for trainings.
We accomplished this through designing a website that:
- Showcases a live feed of their Google reviews and highlights their qualifications to build trust with viewers.
- Has intuitive navigation that guides viewers through the site depending on if they are a permanent makeup artist looking for training or if they are a client looking to book an appointment.
- Integrates their booking software to make it easy for clients to book appointments.
Why Beauty Businesses Need Strategic Website Design
A beauty business website is often the first interaction potential clients have with a brand.
Because treatments like microblading and esthetic services are highly trust-based, the website experience plays a major role in helping visitors feel comfortable booking.
A successful med spa or beauty website should:
- Build trust by highlighting client reviews and staff qualifications
- Clearly explain services
- Seamlessly integrate a booking software
- Visually showcase results
It’s also important to use SEO best practices to help your business improve it’s visibility online. A good place to start is implementing optimized headings, keyword strategies, and local SEO which will all help your beauty business attract more organic traffic.
Designing a Website that Converts Views to Bookings
The main menu should be easy to navigate and clearly define what you will find on each page.
Some examples are:
- Home
- Services & Booking
- Client Info
- Portfolio
- About
- Contact
The homepage design should include a short blurb about each page and then link to that page where the viewer can learn more to avoid overwhelming visitors with too much information at once.
From the homepage, visitors should be able to quickly find where to:
- Browse services
- Book an appointment
- Learn about any info the client should know about before or after their appointment
- Get more info on the staff and their qualifications
- Find contact information
A straight forward main menu and an organized homepage create a seamless browsing experience across both desktop and mobile devices.
Don’t forget to include professional imagery of your work to showcase why potential clients should book an appointment with you.
Organizing Services and Education Information
Depending on the services you provide, some website will need to support multiple types of visitors.
Potential clients needed to easily browse services and treatment information, while students and trainees needed access to educational details.
One way to handle this is to create two distinct pathways on your website. You can do this by grouping the pages for each distinct group under main menu items. For example, you can have a main menu item titled “For Clients” and under that item will be a Services & Booking link and a Client Info link. The second main menu item could be titled “For Trainees” which would house all of the info on your training programs.
Making the clear distinction between the two pathways and their information help improve the overall user experience.
